Request for Relief from Parks Mismanagement
CAC has completed its Request for Relief from Parks Mismanagement, which can be found HERE. The Request for Relief was sent to the Deputy Director of the National Park Service (NPS) in Washington, D.C., the NPS Intermountain Regional Office in Denver, Colorado, and the Superintendent of Padre Island National Seashore. It is anticipated that the filing of the Request for Relief is the first of what will be a series of actions which CAC will be taking against the NPS. One of the purposes for which CAC was formed was to educate the NPS on the public’s rights at PINS, including full rights of access to the beach, and on how to best care for the environment at PINS. CAC was also formed to educate the public to enhance and promote proper enjoyment of PINS, its fish and wildlife Judging from the mismanagement which has occurred at PINS over the last few months, it is anticipated that further legal action will be required to fully educate the NPS on the proper management of PINS. The next objective for CAC is to secure adequate funding so that it will have an adequate war-chest to enable it to bring a lawsuit next year (or whenever necessary) against the NPS to complete its education on the publics rights at PINS, including full rights of access to the beach, and on how to best care for the environment at PINS. If funding is not needed for a lawsuit, CAC has numerous educational and charitable projects it would like to pursue. CAC was formed as a 501(c)(3) public non-profit corporation for educational and charitable purposes. Your membership fees and voluntary contributions are tax-deductible. Since the membership fee to join CAC is very low to make its membership affordable, we will need substantial voluntary contributions if CAC is to be able to fulfill its objectives. You can join CAC and make your voluntary contributions by—doing what?? by registering HERE
